What Is Deep Tech?

The term deep tech was coined by Swati Chaturvedi, co-founder and CEO of investment firm Propel(x). The word doesn't refer to innovation itself, but to a category of startup companies that develop new products based “on scientific discovery or meaningful engineering innovation." The startups we work with span multiple Deep Tech sectors, but can have the most impact on those companies within Aerospace (Air and Space), Maritime, CleanTech/Clean Energy, Robotics, and those [software/data/artificial intelligence]technologies that touch these domains. |
